Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

What this is

I Found It At is an open-source tool that lets you share URLs from your phone to your home computer. The mobile app acts as a remote control — you share a link, and your paired server receives it. These terms govern use of the hosted relay service at ifounditat.app and the I Found It At apps.

The relay service

The relay at ifounditat.app forwards encrypted messages between your mobile device and your home server. It does not store or process any content. The relay is a passthrough — it cannot read your messages.

Your responsibilities

Open source

The server and relay are open source under the MIT license. You are free to run your own relay, modify the code, and self-host everything. The MIT license applies to the source code. These terms apply to the hosted service.

The apps

The iOS and macOS apps are provided as-is. We aim to keep them working and will fix bugs, but make no guarantees about uptime, compatibility with future OS versions, or availability in app stores.

Paid service

The remote relay service may be offered as a paid subscription. If you pay for the service and we discontinue it, we'll provide reasonable notice and refund any unused prepaid time.

Limitation of liability

I Found It At is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the software or service, including but not limited to data loss or service interruptions.

Termination

We may suspend access to the hosted relay for abuse. You can stop using the service at any time by deleting your pairings. Since the software is open source, you can always self-host.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the hosted service after changes constitutes acceptance. The open-source code remains under MIT regardless of these terms.
